Daniel Coronado Sr., a 45-year-old Hispanic man, was found dead at his home on Dallas Street in Pleasanton, Texas, on July 15, 2014. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was discovered around 11 p.m. The Pleasanton Police Department and the Texas Rangers opened an investigation; no arrests or suspects have been identified.
Coronado Sr.’s death occurred about three weeks after his son, 26-year-old Daniel Coronado Jr., was found shot to death in a car in East San Antonio on June 24, 2014. Authorities have not confirmed a link between the two killings. Neighbors said Coronado Sr. had lived in the area six or seven months, worked previously at a lawnmower repair shop, and was generally quiet.
The Coronado deaths were among several violent incidents in Atascosa County that month, which residents linked to the area’s rapid population growth. Anyone with information about Daniel Coronado Sr. or those shootings is asked to come forward.
