Kimberly Rayson, 35, of Longview, Texas, was fatally shot on June 5, 2014. She and 38-year-old Chanda Martin were found at Martin’s residence with fatal gunshot wounds; Rayson was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The primary suspect was Isaiah Christopher Roberts, 29, of Tyler, Texas, identified as Martin’s ex-husband. Prosecutors said Roberts believed Martin was romantically involved with another man, James Thomas, and that jealousy led to a confrontation at Martin’s home. Roberts fled after the shootings, was caught following a high-speed chase in Smith County, and officers found two firearms in his vehicle. He was charged with capital murder; a Gregg County jury convicted him and sentenced him to life imprisonment without parole.

The case went through appeals in which Roberts challenged the sufficiency of the evidence, suppression rulings about electronic evidence, the jury charge, and denied mistrial motions. Those challenges were rejected on appeal. If anyone knew Kimberly Rayson or has information about her final days, please share what you remember.
