I'm still reeling from everything that went down in Terrell back in 2013. Jason Michael Wooden and Kelleye Lynnette Sluder were taken from their loved ones in such a cruel and senseless manner. I can't help but feel deeply for that little boy who was in the house at the time—it breaks my heart to think about the trauma he might have experienced, even if he wasn't physically harmed. It’s a small mercy that he was unharmed, but I can’t imagine the questions he’ll have as he grows older.
It's just terrible how Charles Everett Brownlow Jr. tore through lives, leaving so much devastation in his wake. I was also struck by the bravery of Jason and Kelleye's families when they faced such unimaginable grief. They seemed to find strength in each other and their community, which just goes to show the resilience of the human spirit. I hope that with time, they have found some measure of peace and healing.
