Kelleye Lynnette Sluder Pratt, 30, was one of two people found fatally shot in a Terrell, Texas home on October 28, 2013. Her partner, Jason Michael Wooden, 33, was also found dead from gunshot wounds; the couple’s 3-year-old child was discovered unharmed in the residence.
Authorities say the killings were part of a larger spree that night. Charles Everett Brownlow Jr., 36, was arrested after a high-speed chase and a manhunt and was charged with multiple counts of capital murder that include the deaths of Pratt and Wooden. Earlier the same evening, Brownlow’s mother, Mary Brownlow, and his aunt, Belinda Walker, were also killed and his mother’s house was set on fire.
Reports note Brownlow had a lengthy criminal history and appeared to be under the influence of drugs at arrest; investigators have described drug use and prior criminal behavior as relevant to the case.
