Zachery Ryan Zach Doan was 14 when he was killed at his family’s farmhouse in Pampa, Texas, on September 30, 2005. Born August 20, 1991, he was active in baseball, track and air rifle shooting and sang in his church gospel choir.

The attack that killed Zach also claimed the lives of his mother, Michell Conrad, who was six months pregnant, and his stepfather, Brian Conrad. Investigators say Levi King, 26, drove from Missouri to Texas, armed with an AK-47, and carried out the killings; Michell Conrad managed to make a frantic 911 call during the ordeal. King was later found attempting to re-enter the United States at the Mexican border in El Paso. Court filings state King pleaded guilty; records discussed his history of emotional neglect and reported mental health diagnoses including bipolar disorder and paranoid schizophrenia.

Zach’s death deeply affected his family and community and those who knew him remember his involvement in sports and church. If anyone knew Zach or has information about the events surrounding that day, please come forward.
