Mary Ann Cream Gibson Foy, 44, a sergeant at the Limestone County Detention Center, was found dead in the trunk of a car off County Road 406 north of Groesbeck, Texas. Her body was discovered on September 13, 2004. Foy was well known in the local community.
The investigation led to the arrest of Eddie Joe Houston, a 43-year-old employee of the Texas Department of Corrections. Houston voluntarily turned himself in to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Department and later confessed; authorities said he and Foy had been dating on and off for about four years and described the killing as a crime of passion. Houston was charged with murder and the case moved into the courts.
Foy’s death had a strong impact on the small community and raised questions about domestic violence and prevention. If anyone knew Mary Ann, her relationship with Houston, or saw anything relevant around Groesbeck in September 2004, please share what is known.
