Shirley Williams, a 40-year-old African-American woman who worked as a sex worker, was found shot to death on March 10, 1991, in Oak Cliff, Texas. Her body was discovered near an elementary school and investigators reported her eyes had been surgically removed — a disturbing detail that linked her killing to at least two other deaths in the Dallas area where victims were found with their eyes removed.
Authorities focused on Charles Albright, known as the Eyeball Killer, in connection with this series. Albright was described as having prior burglary and sexual offense behavior, an interest in taxidermy, and a collection of blades and guns. Although he was arrested and charged in connection with Shirley Williams’ murder, the charges were later dropped for lack of direct evidence. No other charges were filed in the related cases.
The murders remain unsolved. Did anyone in Oak Cliff or the Dallas area have contact with Shirley or the other victims around March 1991, or recall suspicious people or vehicles in the neighborhood at that time?
