Tracy Zan Powers was 20 when she was murdered on May 16, 1983. She was visiting 21-year-old Pamela Kay Hudgins in Hudgins’ Weatherford, Texas, apartment with her 4-month-old son, Justin, when Danny Paul Bible forced entry. Bible bludgeoned all three victims to death, placed their bodies in the trunk of his car, and drove to Mineral Wells, where he discarded them in separate locations.

Bible fled Texas after the murders, abandoning his wife’s car at an airport in Midland and remaining at large for several months before further crimes in other states. He later confessed to the killings of Tracy, Pamela, and Justin and was convicted of capital murder.
