Lynell Murray was a 19-year-old college student working at Prime Cleaners in Huntington Beach, California, when she was abducted during her shift on November 12, 1986. She failed to meet her boyfriend after work, and later that evening the store was found ransacked with cash and other items missing; her car remained in the parking lot. Her body was found the next day in a hotel room; the cause of death was asphyxiation.
Investigators linked the crime to Cynthia Coffman and James Gregory Marlow. Evidence showed they used Lynell’s credit card shortly after the abduction and had rented the hotel room in her name. Coffman and Marlow were later arrested and convicted on multiple charges including murder, kidnapping, and robbery, with special circumstances noted at trial.
Are there any details about Lynell’s life, routine, or the area around Prime Cleaners that someone who knew her or was in Huntington Beach in 1986 could share?
