Charity Fay Nava was 23 when she was murdered in Miami, Florida, on November 20, 1994. Her death was by strangulation and investigators link it to the Tamiami Strangler, Rory Enrique Conde, who targeted sex workers along the Tamiami Trail. Nava’s body was found with a note left by Conde reading Third. I will call Dwight Chan. 10.

Conde’s killing spree in 1994 eventually accounted for six victims, including Nava, with bodies left in suburban neighborhoods. The sequence of murders ended after Conde’s arrest in June 1995 when a bound and gagged woman in his apartment attracted neighbor attention; he later confessed. Conde was convicted of multiple murders, including Charity Nava’s, and received a death sentence plus additional life terms.
