William Park was a 72-year-old Korean American upholsterer and Korean War veteran who died on November 8, 2001, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He lived in Franklin Township. After an investigation into nurse Charles Edmund Cullen, Cullen later admitted to administering a fatal overdose of digoxin to Park while employed at St. Luke’s.
Cullen’s confessions in December 2003 revealed he had given lethal doses of medications to multiple patients; reports from his sentencing describe disruptive courtroom behavior and note he was sentenced in March 2006 to multiple life terms without parole after pleading guilty to numerous counts of murder and attempted murder. Park’s death is part of that pattern of covert drug overdoses by Cullen.
