Marilyn Nevils, 38, was found deceased in late October 2000 when a badly decomposed body was recovered in November on the Mississippi River levee about a mile south of Ben-Hur Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The discovery launched an investigation that ultimately connected her death to a wider string of violent crimes in the area.
According to the suspect’s later statements, Marilyn was kidnapped in Lafayette, driven to Baton Rouge, killed, and left near the Mississippi River close to the suspect’s residence. The case was part of a series of linked killings that investigators pursued in the years that followed.
Anyone with memories of Marilyn, knowledge of her movements in October 2000, or information about her kidnapping and death is asked to come forward.
