Sherry Tew Mansur, 34, was strangled and found along Interstate 40 in Guilford County, North Carolina; her death occurred on February 19, 1995. She had last been seen in January 1995 when she visited her niece in Bowie, Maryland, and investigators established that she had been picked up in Fredericksburg, Virginia, before she was killed.
Long-haul truck driver Sean Patrick Goble, 28 at the time of his arrest, later confessed that he picked up and strangled Mansur. He was arrested on April 13, 1995, and confessed to multiple murders committed along his routes. Goble was charged and convicted in connection with several killings; in this case his actions are part of a multi-state pattern that linked Mansur’s death to other victims encountered while traveling.
If anyone knew Sherry’s movements in January and February 1995 or saw her travelling on the I-40 corridor, please share information that could shed light on her final hours.
