Alice Rebecca Hanes was 36 when her body was found near Interstate 81 in Kingsport, Tennessee, in March 1995. Originally from Ohio, Hanes had a history of prostitution and was last known to have been at a truck stop in Salina, Kansas, where she made a phone call before hitchhiking toward Tennessee.

Authorities linked the killing to 29-year-old long-haul truck driver Sean Patrick Goble after his April 1995 arrest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, outside his trucking company. Investigators found Hanes’s pocketbook and other items in his truck, and Goble confessed that he had smothered Hanes and left her body along the interstate. He later admitted to killing other women across several states and pleaded guilty to the Tennessee murders, receiving two consecutive life sentences.

Did anyone who knew Alice or saw her at the Salina truck stop in March 1995 ever come forward with information?
