Earnie Lee Hankins, 55, was shot to death in his mobile home on October 8, 2000. His body was not discovered until nearly ten months later, when it was found in the home surrounded by air fresheners and showing evidence of decomposition. The homicide was later linked to his son, Terry Lee Hankins, as part of a series of killings that also included Terry’s half-sister, Pearl Sissy Stevenstar, who was found beaten to death and concealed in a plastic ice chest at Earnie’s auto repair shop.
Court documents say Stevenstar was the mother of Terry’s child and was pregnant again by him. Investigators later connected other murders to Terry Hankins, and he was charged with capital murder.
If anyone knew Earnie, his habits, or who might have had access to his mobile home in late 2000, please share what you know.
