Skeletal remains of a white woman were found near the Holt exit on Interstate 10 in Okaloosa County, Florida, on September 14, 1994. The victim was estimated to be about 34 years old, but her identity remained unknown despite facial reconstructions and forensic work over the following decades.
In late 2022, analysis by the District 1 Medical Examiner’s Office in collaboration with Othram Inc. produced a DNA profile that identified the woman as Suzanne L. Kjellenberg, 34, of Wisconsin. After the identification, investigators interviewed convicted serial killer Keith Hunter Jesperson in September 2023; he provided details reaffirming a prior confession and was charged with second-degree murder. On April 4, 2024, Jesperson pleaded guilty and received a life sentence. Kjellenberg’s family has been notified and expressed gratitude for the identification.
If anyone knew Suzanne Kjellenberg or has information about her life before 1994, please share what you can.
