Anita Mary Luchessa was 18 when she was killed on May 7, 1972, in Alameda County, California. She and a friend, Mary Ann Pesce, were hitchhiking to Stanford University when Edmund Kemper picked them up in Berkeley. Kemper drove them to a secluded location and murdered them; Pesce was stabbed and strangled in the backseat, and Luchessa was killed in the trunk in a similar manner.
After the killings, Kemper moved the bodies to his residence, where he dismembered them and photographed the remains. Pesce’s remains were later recovered and identified, but Luchessa’s body was never found. Edmund Kemper was arrested in April 1973 after confessing to multiple murders, including those of Luchessa and Pesce, and was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Does anyone have information about Luchessa’s final movements or knowledge that might explain why her remains were never recovered?
