Kathleen Allen, 18, of Milpitas, California, was murdered in April 1985 and her remains were recovered at Leonard Lake’s remote cabin in Wilseyville. Investigators identified her from teeth and bone fragments. She appears on videotapes found at the property, apparently held captive and coerced under threats of violence after being lured to the property under false pretenses. Lake and Charles Ng are reported to have carried out a plan to abduct and enslave women, subjecting victims to psychological and physical torment before killing them.
Allen’s boyfriend, Michael Sean Carroll, was also killed, and other victims were recovered at the scene. Lake died by suicide in police custody in June 1985 after swallowing cyanide pills. Charles Ng was arrested in Canada, extradited to the United States, and later tried; his prosecution included videotapes showing victims in captivity and resulted in convictions and a death sentence.
Did anyone who knew Kathleen, her movements in early 1985, or her connections to the Milpitas area ever notice her absence or have information about that April visit to Wilseyville?
