Alice Denise Duvall, a 34-year-old Black woman, was found dead on June 10, 1991, in an industrial area of Long Beach, California. The cause of death was determined to be strangulation, and at the time the case remained unsolved with no immediate leads or suspects identified.

In 2020 DNA testing linked the murder to Samuel Little. Little had previously confessed to numerous killings and initially gave a vague confession placing this killing in Los Angeles; subsequent investigation established the homicide occurred in Long Beach and Detective Michael Hubbard confirmed the DNA match that tied Little to Duvall’s death. Little’s confessions have been inconsistent at times, and forensic evidence provided the decisive confirmation in this case.
