Brenda Kaye Thompson was 36 when she was abducted and murdered on October 10, 1991. Witnesses reported she was seen desperately trying to escape, kicking at the windshield of Kenneth McDuff’s pickup truck. Her body was not recovered until October 3, 1998, when remains were located in a heavily wooded area about nine miles north of Waco, Texas.
McDuff had a long criminal history and was linked to multiple murders; Thompson was one of several victims associated with him during that period. Investigators say Thompson’s remains were found after McDuff’s final arrest, and he was convicted of multiple murders, including Thompson’s.
Thompson’s case is part of a larger pattern that led to changes in Texas parole policies. Does anyone have memory of the area north of Waco in the 1990s or information that could shed more light on Thompson’s last known movements?
