David Cote Jr., 34, died on March 27, 2025, in Wolcott, Connecticut, after a domestic dispute at his father’s home escalated into gunfire. He had been at the Bound Line Road residence with his mother, Michelle Cote, helping his father, David Cote Sr., move out as part of an ongoing divorce when the argument turned violent. Police found all three family members dead in a bedroom after a 6:30 p.m. 911 call.
Authorities say the father, 59, drew a handgun and shot Michelle Cote and his son. A friend who had accompanied David Cote Jr., and who was legally armed, then shot and killed the elder Cote. Investigators documented numerous firearms at the home and Major Crimes detectives reconstructed the sequence of events; the father was found still gripping the weapon and died of multiple gunshot wounds. Police have said they do not expect arrests and sought to close the case without charges, pending the State’s Attorney’s sign-off.
If anyone knew the family, was in that neighborhood that evening, or has information about the incident, please share what is known.
