A late-afternoon shooting at the Dayton RTD Light Rail Station in Greenwood Village ended the life of 17-year-old Abraham Steve Carranza Maravilla of Englewood. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on February 11, 2025, in the station parking lot near Interstate 225 and South Boston Street. Officers found Abraham with a gunshot wound and a 14-year-old boy who had been assaulted; both were taken to a nearby hospital. Abraham died the next day and the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office ruled his death a homicide.

Witnesses saw several suspects fleeing the scene. Greenwood Village police, aided by Denver and Aurora departments, later identified three individuals believed to be involved. A juvenile male was taken into custody February 20; 18-year-old Kaleb Witt was arrested March 7; and another 17-year-old male was arrested March 11, both in Denver, where searches recovered multiple firearms. Investigators say they believe all involved have been apprehended, and inquiries into motive and each person’s role continue.

Does anyone have information about Abraham, the 14-year-old victim, or what happened at the Dayton station that afternoon?
