Anthony Jamar Coley, a 27-year-old Black man from Dublin, Georgia, was shot and later died after being found in the driver’s side area of a car in a backyard on Rutland Drive in the early morning of April 29, 2025. Police responded at about 2:00 a.m. after the city’s gunshot detection system recorded shots. Officers removed Coley from the vehicle and emergency crews took him to Fairview Park Hospital, where he later died of his wounds.

Investigators described the incident as an armed robbery that turned deadly; Coley was reported to have been struck twice, in the chest and lower abdomen. Authorities said they believed the people accused did not know Coley. A 16-year-old, Dontavis Terrell Lovett, was arrested and charged with felony murder and armed robbery. Within a day, 17-year-old Jacari Antonio Page turned himself in and was also charged with felony murder and armed robbery. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation assisted local police, and the case was to be forwarded to the Dublin Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office after the investigation.

Does anyone have information about Coley, the events on Rutland Drive that night, or the investigation that could help clarify what happened?
