A domestic dispute in a Miami Gardens townhome turned fatal on April 18, 2025. Officers responded after a 911 call just after 6:30 a.m. and found movement at an upstairs window; occupants were ordered out. One teenage son told officers his brother had been shot in the foot. Shaneeka Daschell Harris then exited with a 15-year-old who had a gunshot wound to his right thigh and said her husband was still inside.

A protective sweep located Aaron Swatts Jr. unresponsive at the entrance to an upstairs bedroom with a gunshot wound to his back. He was airlifted to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital and pronounced dead at 7:41 a.m. Investigators recovered a 9 mm Walther CCP, three spent shell casings and five live rounds; a black handgun and ammunition were also reported in another bedroom and on the staircase.
