On the evening of April 11, 2025, 14-year-old Demarrion Carter was shot outside his home in the 800 block of Monroe Street in LaGrange, Georgia. The shooting took place about 7:40 p.m.; family members took him to a local hospital but he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

LaGrange Police Department detectives opened a homicide investigation and named a Criminal Investigations Division detective as the point of contact for tips.
