Dalton Collins was 19 and from Tennyson, Indiana when he was shot during an attempted robbery on the night of Saturday, March 22, 2025. Collins and a friend, Zachary Kiper, drove to the Parkside Apartments in the 2800 block of S. Lodge Avenue in Evansville for what they believed was a prearranged marijuana deal. Two masked teenagers, identified as 16-year-olds Isam Clark and Derrick Brifil, approached the vehicle; police say Clark was armed with a handgun fitted with a green laser.

Investigators believe Clark fired first, striking both Collins and Kiper. Kiper was also wounded but returned fire, striking Brifil, who later sought help at a nearby home. Collins was taken to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, kept on life support to enable organ donation, and later died of his injuries. Clark and Brifil were arrested and charged as adults with murder and robbery; Brifil also faces a child in possession of a firearm count.

An Honor Walk was held at the hospital and Collins’s family chose to donate his organs. Does anyone have information about that night or knew Dalton and can help piece together what happened?
