I've been following the Frostproof case closely, and one detail that's been sticking with me is how young the suspects are. It's tough to wrap my head around the idea that two teenagers could be involved in something so tragic. My heart goes out to Juan German-Garo Jr.'s family and friends; I can't imagine the pain they're going through. But I also wonder about what leads kids as young as 15 and 16 to make such devastating choices. It's scary and sad to think about the potential futures that have been lost for everyone involved. This should make all of us look at the need for stronger community support systems and resources for youth. It might not change this awful event, but maybe it could help prevent others.
