Jessica Morris, 31, was found gravely wounded inside a car on the 2500 block of North Canterbury Drive in Riviera Beach shortly before 12:30 a.m. on February 16, 2025. She was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach and later died of her injuries. Police say surveillance footage shows a vehicle traveling east on Canterbury Drive North, followed by the sound of gunfire and visible muzzle flashes inside the vehicle; the vehicle then slowed and a man exited, fired additional shots, and fled on foot.
Investigators reviewed surveillance video and interviewed Morris’ relatives as they worked to reconstruct what happened. About half an hour after the shooting, officers arrested 25-year-old Rodney Sanders walking along Military Trail just south of the VA Medical Center. He was carrying a semi-automatic rifle-caliber pistol; shell casings at the scene were reportedly matched to ammunition found in his firearm. Sanders was charged with first-degree murder and ordered held without bail. The arrest report did not state a motive.
Did anyone in Riviera Beach see the vehicle or the man captured on camera that night, or have information about Morris’ movements on February 15–16?
