On March 2, 2025, two people were shot to death near 167th Street and Spaulding Avenue in Markham, Illinois. One victim was 23-year-old Jamari Stigler of Riverdale, Illinois. Autopsy results from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office list the cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds and ruled the death a homicide.
The Markham Police Department, assisted by the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, opened a homicide investigation. Authorities later arrested Terrell Fox of the 3700 block of 167th Place in Country Club Hills and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the killings; prosecutors say Fox confessed after his arrest. The motive for the shootings has not been disclosed and the matter remains under investigation.
If anyone knew Jamari Stigler or has information about the shooting near 167th and Spaulding Avenue, please share what you know.
