James Solger, a 61-year-old man from Glenview, Illinois, was found dead inside a home on Glenview Road on March 2, 2025, after authorities responded to a welfare check. An autopsy confirmed multiple gunshot wounds and the death was ruled a homicide.
On March 12, 2025, Glenview police arrested 55-year-old Charles S. Poulos, also of Glenview, and charged him with first-degree murder in connection with Solger’s death. Poulos was taken into custody and is being held pending transport to a pretrial conditions hearing. Investigators have described the incident as isolated but have not disclosed a motive or the nature of any relationship between Poulos and Solger.
Solger, born June 24, 1963, is survived by children, siblings, and grandchildren; his obituary notes he was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Carol Solger and by a great-nephew. Does anyone in Glenview have information about Solger, his movements before March 2, or any connection to Charles Poulos?
