A Friday night shooting at Doyle High School’s baseball park in Livingston ended with the death of 23-year-old Evan Lynch. On May 9, 2025, dispatchers received a call around 9:15 p.m. from a vehicle on Texas Street reporting a man shot and having difficulty breathing. Officers found Lynch inside a vehicle off Red Oak Road with a single gunshot wound to the chest; he was taken to a hospital and later died.
The investigation produced three arrests tied to what authorities described as a planned attack. Nineteen-year-old Brandon Soileau, the driver of the vehicle where Lynch was found, was arrested first. Twenty-three-year-old Caleb Rowley of Denham Springs was later taken into custody; both Soileau and Rowley face first-degree murder, aggravated burglary, obstruction of justice, and tampering with surveillance. A third suspect, 24-year-old Lavorius Linson, was arrested on charges including first-degree murder, criminal conspiracy, first-degree robbery, and illegally supplying a firearm to a felon. Officials said the shooting did not involve any students and the school was not in session.
Are there witnesses or local residents who can share what they saw near the baseball park that night?
