A deadly incident in Montgomery Village ended with a homicide ruling. On the morning of April 26, 2025, 20-year-old Henry Krishawn Gilbert of Clarksburg was driving when his vehicle struck a townhouse on Brookridge Court. First responders found Gilbert with an apparent gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore ruled the death a homicide after an autopsy.

Montgomery County Police Major Crimes detectives opened an active investigation. Two suspects were identified: 20-year-old Demari Howard Brown of Montgomery Village was arrested May 1, 2025, by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery. A second suspect, 19-year-old Jorden Nylen Hungerford of Hyattsville, turned himself in to Rockville City Police on May 3, 2025, and was served with a first-degree murder warrant; a bond hearing was scheduled for him.
