A quiet Saturday morning in Lowell, Massachusetts ended in violence on April 19, 2025, when 50-year-old Tige Dyer was found inside a Cumberland Road home with an apparent gunshot wound. Police arrived at about 11:10 a.m. after a 911 call and Dyer was rushed to a local hospital but later died of his injuries.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Lowell Police Department and Massachusetts State Police detectives opened an active homicide investigation. Investigators describe the shooting as apparently isolated and not random, but no motive has been released.
