Paul Henry Armstrong was 27 and working as a tow truck driver when he vanished from Merced, California. He was last seen the morning of December 17, 1993; his girlfriend saw him at home before leaving for work at 7:45 a.m., and about an hour later his brother stopped by and found the house empty. Armstrong had left his wallet behind and missed a planned lunch with his girlfriend.
At the time he was on crutches with a broken leg and wearing a leg brace. His clothing that day was reported as gray sweatpants, a light blue UCLA sweatshirt, a white Raiders jacket with Kool-Aid stains on the sleeves, and blue sneakers. A co-worker, Steven Lombard, also disappeared the same day under suspicious circumstances; both men worked for the same towing company, though their families think the cases are unrelated.
Authorities consider Armstrongs disappearance suspicious and have investigated it as a potential homicide, but he has never been found. If anyone has information about Paul Armstrongs whereabouts or that morning in Merced, please contact the Merced County Sheriff’s Department.
