On April 24, 2025, three members of the same family were found dead inside their home on Joseph Street in Drew, Mississippi: 18-year-old Bromeisha Sims, her 19-year-old sister Kamaya Sims, and their 40-year-old mother Aquilla Latique Wallace. The sisters had just graduated high school; Bromeisha planned to study cosmetology and Kamaya hoped to pursue nursing. Their mother was remembered as a devoted parent and neighbor.
Investigators linked the killings to suspects located in the nearby community of Rome. A foot chase followed; one of the three suspects died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being surrounded by officers and later died at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Two other suspects were arrested. Authorities say all three suspects were known to the victims and that the motive remains under investigation. The victims’ bodies were taken to the Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies.
Did anyone in Drew or Rome see anything the night of April 24 that could help explain what happened?
