On April 24, 2025, three members of the same family were shot to death in their Joseph Street home in Drew, Mississippi. Victims were 19-year-old Kamaya Sims, her 18-year-old sister Bromeshia Sims, and their 40-year-old mother Aquilla Wallace; the deaths were ruled a triple homicide and the bodies were sent to the Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
Investigators identified three suspects and pursued them into nearby Rome, where a foot chase occurred. Two suspects were taken into custody; a third sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound during the pursuit, was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and later died. One of the deceased suspects has been identified as James Kendrick; the other two names have not been released.
No motive has been announced as the investigation continues. If anyone knew Kamaya Sims or has information about the killings or the events on April 24, please come forward to assist authorities.
