Megeil Tyrone Walsh, 22, was found unresponsive with fatal gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the Canton Estates Apartments on Rick’s Drive in Canton, Mississippi, just before 11:00 p.m. on April 22, 2025. The Madison County Chief Deputy Coroner, Joel Shows, identified Walsh as the victim, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Canton Police launched a homicide investigation and initially named two people of interest. On April 27, 2025, authorities said they were searching for Renardo Elmore and Percy Rogers. The next day police announced Renardo Elmore had been arrested and charged in connection with Walsh’s death, while Percy Rogers was released without charges. No motive or details explaining the circumstances of the shooting have been made public.
