On the morning of April 19, 2025, gunfire was reported in the 900 block of North Theobald Street in Greenville, Mississippi. Responding officers found 42-year-old Reginald Nash, a Black male, lying near the roadway; emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. His body was sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.
Initial investigation produced no immediate suspects, and police asked the public for information, with a reward of up to $2,000 offered. The case remained under active investigation for weeks while authorities worked to reconstruct events leading to Nash’s death.
On June 12, 2025, police announced a major development: 33-year-old Greenville resident Jamarcus Davis was arrested after a warrant was issued following investigative work that included autopsy results. Davis faces a manslaughter charge in connection with Nash’s death; no motive has been disclosed. If anyone has information about what happened that morning, please share it with investigators.
