A late-afternoon shooting on February 2, 2025, left 20-year-old Tyler Fludd dead in a District Heights, Maryland neighborhood. Police were called to the 5400 block of Silver Hill Road about 5:20 p.m.; Fludd was found outside with gunshot wounds and later died at a local hospital.

Investigators say the killing followed an apparent robbery that was planned using a personal connection. Authorities identified 18-year-old Jamiel Collins of Oxon Hill as someone Fludd knew and say Collins recruited 24-year-old Keyondre Joyner of Washington, D.C., to take part. Joyner allegedly shot Fludd during the incident. Within weeks the Prince George’s County Police Department arrested both men and charged them with first-degree murder and related offenses; both were held without bond.

What details about the robbery or the sequence of events that evening might help explain how this planned assault turned fatal for Tyler Fludd?
