A fatal shooting at a Bridgeton gas station on the evening of February 27, 2025, left 22-year-old Daunte Martin dead. Martin, from St. Charles, was involved in an argument with another man outside the Phillips 66 at 12218 St. Charles Rock Road around 6:00 p.m. Officers found Martin with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest; he was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police identified 25-year-old Gabriel Glenn Roy of Florissant as the suspect. Charging documents say Roy and Martin were acquaintances who argued in the station lot and that Roy, who reportedly held a black 9mm handgun, admitted to firing three shots because he felt Martin was moving toward him. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Roy with second-degree murder and armed criminal action; he was being held on a $500,000 cash-only bond and was already awaiting trial on separate weapon and drug counts.
