Navdeep Oberoi, 29, was found dead near the railroad tracks by West Owens Avenue and Stocker Street in North Las Vegas on January 2, 2025. Metro officers who responded to a report of a deceased person confirmed his identity and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy the next day found a fatal gunshot wound to the abdomen, and the death was ruled a homicide. The killing reportedly reverberated through the Southern Nevada Indian community, already grieving another recent loss.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police detectives identified 30-year-old Connor Demots as the primary suspect; patrol officers arrested him and he was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon in connection with Oberoi’s death.

Does anyone in the area have information about Oberoi’s movements or who might have seen him near West Owens and Stocker around January 2?
