Kho’Mori McGee was 15 when she was fatally shot on the afternoon of February 10, 2025, inside a home on the 10900 block of John James Drive in north St. Louis County, Missouri. Police were dispatched at 4:24 p.m.; officers found her with a single gunshot wound. Although initial reports said she was transported, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A freshman at Hazelwood East High School who had earlier attended North Side Community School, Kho’Mori was remembered by family and classmates as a sweet, loving, and respectful teenager who loved basketball and dreamed of the WNBA. Her death prompted counseling and peace circles at the school and a GoFundMe to assist with funeral expenses.
Investigators took a 14-year-old boy into custody and he is being held at the St. Louis County Family Court. Authorities have said they believe the shooting was unintentional and occurred while children were playing with a firearm; the investigation remains active. If anyone knew Kho’Mori or has information about the shooting, please come forward to investigators.
