Clay Michael Kyllonen, 30, was shot and killed in the early morning hours of February 2, 2025, at an apartment in the 300 block of 5th Street SW in Williston, North Dakota. Officers arrived about 5:48 AM; despite attempts by police and the Williston Fire Department to render aid, Kyllonen was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy later confirmed two gunshot wounds to the chest.
Investigators identified two suspects from nearby Tioga: Tyler Roy Langved and Kaylie Jane Langved, both 30. According to court papers, the confrontation began over about $100 that Danielle Lowe had borrowed from Tyler Langved. The Langveds allegedly returned to the apartment that morning armed with handguns. Lowe told police Kaylie Langved pistol-whipped her and Kyllonen, and Tyler Langved then shot Kyllonen twice. Neighbor video reportedly shows a white Ford F-150 matching Tyler Langved’s vehicle circling the block shortly before the shooting.
Tyler Langved was charged with Class AA felony murder, burglary, reckless endangerment, unlawful possession of a firearm, and discharging a firearm within city limits; Kaylie Langved was charged with Class AA felony murder, burglary, and conspiracy to commit burglary. Both were held in the Williams County jail. Kyllonen’s obituary described him as non-violent, a peacemaker who loved basketball and was close to his family.
Did anyone in Williston see the white Ford F-150 or have information about the events that morning?
