David Rickey Anderson, 21, was shot and killed in Salisbury, North Carolina, on the night of April 30, 2025. The shooting occurred at about 9:45 p.m. in the 200 block of South Clay Street near East Innes Street. Officers found Anderson lying in the front yard of a home with apparent gunshot wounds; emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Salisbury Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division immediately opened a homicide investigation, secured the scene and searched for evidence. Police have asked anyone with information or video of the incident to contact investigators or provide anonymous tips through Salisbury-Rowan Crime Stoppers.
