Richard Ozuna, a 58-year-old Caucasian man, was found unconscious near a tire shop on West Sahara Avenue in Las Vegas on November 9, 2016. He had suffered a severe beating and a fractured skull after being struck with an object. First responders transported him to medical care, but his injuries were eventually deemed unsurvivable and he was moved to hospice, where he died from those wounds.

The Metropolitan Police Department investigated the incident as a homicide. Detectives continued working the case for months and later identified a suspect. In August, officers located and arrested 42-year-old William Johnson at an apartment complex in the east valley of Las Vegas; Johnson was charged in connection with Ozuna’s death.
