O’Brian Grant was 20 when he was found shot to death on the morning of April 19, 2025, along Legendary Drive in Orangeburg County, South Carolina; the county coroner pronounced him dead at the scene and an autopsy was scheduled. Investigators quickly focused on his black 2015 Honda Accord, South Carolina plate 394BHV, which was missing as they tried to trace Grant’s last movements. A tip led deputies to an abandoned house where the vehicle was recovered; authorities alleged its tag had been changed and that a bill of sale or invoice presented as proof of ownership was fake.
Investigators also said the suspect and Grant had been in recent phone contact, though the motive was described as unclear. On April 22 the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Nathaniel Grant on charges that included murder, grand larceny and possession of a weapon during a violent crime; court filings also referenced a stolen-pistol allegation and the judge ordered no bond and no contact with the victim’s family. Claflin University mourned the loss of a student remembered at a campus vigil.
Did anyone see O’Brian or his Accord in the hours before April 19, or have information about phone contacts tied to the case?
