Samson Green, 34, was shot and killed on the evening of April 18, 2025, while standing outside the Crown Inn motel on Bamberg Highway in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Deputies from the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at about 8:30 p.m. and found Green deceased at the scene.

The investigation produced multiple arrests. On April 30, 2025, 27-year-old Daquan Montrell Milhouse-Keitt was arrested after a search of a wooded area and charged with murder. On April 31, 2025, brothers Titus Banton Jr., 20, and Tynes Banton, 21, were taken into custody and charged with murder; Titus Banton Jr. was also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Other arrests include Shadeed Smith, 42, charged with accessory before the fact of a felony; Nathaniel Isaiah Roberts, 26, charged with accessory after the fact of murder; a 17-year-old charged with murder in May; and Kiza Banton, arrested and charged with accessory after the fact. Authorities have asked for information about another person of interest known only as Quan. Funeral services for Samson Green were held May 3, 2025, at the House of Praise Non-Denominational Church of Deliverance in Orangeburg.
