Shekhar Chapagai, a 30-year-old Bhutanese American, was fatally wounded in the mass shooting at KDC/One, a cosmetics manufacturing and warehouse facility in New Albany, Ohio. The attack occurred on the evening of February 4, 2025. Chapagai, the youngest of 11 siblings, had lived in the Columbus area since 2016 and was a devoted husband and father who was expecting his second child at the time of his death. He died of his injuries late Wednesday at Mount Carmel East Hospital.

The shooting left multiple casualties. Another victim, 38-year-old Kyle Vaver of Pickerington, was pronounced dead at the scene and four others were injured. Authorities identified and arrested an employee at KDC/One, Bruce Reginald Foster III; he was charged with aggravated murder and held on $20 million bond at his Licking County arraignment, with prosecutors indicating more charges were expected. Community leaders in the local Bhutanese American community have called for greater workplace safety measures in the aftermath.

Did anyone who worked at KDC/One or knew Shekhar notice anything unusual in the days before February 4?
