A violent early-morning shooting in Anderson, South Carolina, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, left 22-year-old Christian Jordan Woods dead. Deputies were called about 7:30 a.m. to a makeshift residence on Quinn Street after a surviving victim managed to exit the home and flag down help. Woods and 59-year-old Rona Paul McGirt were found inside the dwelling, both having died of gunshot wounds; a third person was wounded and survived.
Christian Jordan Woods was born in Greenville on December 12, 2002. Family members described him as full of life, funny and loving; he was the father of two young daughters, Lillabeth and Nora Woods, and is survived by his parents Jeremy Wyatt Boyce and Brandi Woods and his twin sister Dakota. Anderson County sheriff’s deputies identified 55-year-old Darren Demetrius Martin as the suspect and arrested him on charges including two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. At a bond hearing Martin received a $10,000 bond on the weapon count and $50,000 on the attempted murder count with no contact allowed with the surviving victim; the murder bonds were to be set later. Court records also show a 2020 murder charge against Martin that was dismissed.
Does anyone have information about Christian’s life in Anderson, or about the Quinn Street residence and what happened that morning?
