In the early morning hours of February 2, 2025, gunfire outside Tailgators Bar and Grille in Ridgeland, South Carolina, killed 39-year-old James ’Jimmy’ Reynolds of Bluffton. Officers from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office found Reynolds, who died of gunshot wounds, at the popular billiards bar at 1108 Argent Boulevard; the Jasper County coroner, Jeremiah Vaigneur, confirmed the cause of death. No one else was reported injured.
Investigators obtained video footage from the bar that helped identify two Bluffton brothers as primary suspects. On February 24, 2025, 31-year-old Marquis Lenard Green was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. His 37-year-old brother, Curtis D’Rod Green, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
The arrests were announced as a coordinated effort by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, the Hardeeville Police Department, and the SLED Fugitive Task Force Team.
